In 1991, two of San Francisco’s oldest and most respected medical institutions, Pacific Presbyterian Hospital and Children’s Hospital of San Francisco, merged to form California Pacific Medical Center. Davies Medical Center joined in 1998 and became the center’s third campus. In January 2007, California Pacific Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital merged. The Medical Center also provides professional education and basic biomedical, clinical and behavioral research. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Accreditation / Regulatory Manager is responsible for oversight and monitoring of the accreditation and regulatory functions for the Medical Center. The primary focus will be to coordinate with the Regional Director a facility strategy for maintaining regulatory compliance of the Joint Commission accreditation standards and other federal and state law. Key functions will be to development and coordinate ongoing assessment, measurement, and reporting structures to maintain ongoing compliance; work in collaboration with key members of the organization in the development of corrective action plans in response to accreditation/regulatory issues; and, coordinates and participates as appropriate in the execution of educational activities and the development of educational materials for continuous readiness preparation of all levels of staff, medical staff, and residents.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education:
a. Licensed as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years experience working in an acute care level healthcare environment.
b. BA/BS Degree in nursing or health related field required.
c. Masters Degree in health related field preferred.

2. Experience
a. Two years experience in a management or leadership role within a hospital or health care organization.

3. Knowledge:
a. Excellent analytical, project management and independent problem-solving skills.
b. Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and survey process.
c. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software programs or equivalents.
d. Excellent communication skills (oral, electronic and written).
e. Ability to demonstrate excellent judgment, attention to process and detail.
f. Discretion, confidentiality, tact, and ability to deal with sensitive issues.
g. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work interdependently.
h. Demonstrates ability to interact with all levels of staff and management, and ability to set priorities and manage multiple demands effectively.
