Sutter Davis Hospital is a not-for-profit, 48-bed acute care hospital with a strong outpatient focus. The present facility, a 94,000-square-foot building that anchors a 20-acre medical campus, opened in 1994 after a five-year planning process that included extensive employee and community involvement. The original building was established in1968 as a for-profit hospital owned by physicians. Sutter Health purchased the hospital in 1981 to ensure residents of Yolo County would continue to have quality care into the future. Sutter Davis Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Nursing Manager directs the management and clinical activities of the following departments/areas on a 24-hour basis while ensuring high quality, cost-effective care is provided: labor and delivery, post partum, nursery. A Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, or Masters preferred. Current license to practice Nursing in California is required. Certification required: BLS-C Instructor, CPR Certification, ACLS preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Demonstrated Acute Care Hospital experience. Familiarity with Department of Health Services Agency and regulatory compliance in-patient care delivery systems, experience with Medical Staff liaison, program development and implementation, group leadership and patient/employee satisfaction concepts.
Must be knowledgeable about health care law, federal, state, and local regulations, JCAHO, Title 22 and other applicable regulatory standards. Must be familiar with various approaches to patient care delivery, applying relevant clinical concepts, acuity systems and productivity management. Must have knowledge in business planning, including analysis, statistics and budgeting, feasibility studies and implementation. Requires a knowledge base in clinical nursing and administration. These skills include but are not limited to: clinical practice management, personnel management, fiscal management (budget development and implementation), professional liability, risk management, environmental management and the principles of quality improvement.
Team leadership and organizational skills are required. Demonstrated ability to generate and analyze report data. An ability to prioritize multiple demands and projects is critical. Proven written and oral communication skills are required in order to coordinate effective hospital-wide and area-wide integration that meets departmental needs as well as Administrative needs. An ability to deal with complex situations and variation in policies, rules and regulations. An ability to meet deadlines and implement projects effectively across multiple departments is an integral part of work responsibilities. Working knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement process and ability to lead and facility DIGS. Ability to set clear expectations to work groups. Must be adept in the use of personal computers and designated equipment in the department, (i.e., video, crash cart, monitors, etc.).
