Reliant Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (“Reliant”) operating as FASTAFF Travel Nursing (“FASTAFF”) and U.S. Nursing Corporation (“U.S. Nursing”), today announced that staffing industry veteran Ray Marcy has assumed the role of Executive Chairman, investor, and a member of the Board of Directors. FASTAFF and U.S. Nursing specialize in providing nationwide rapid response nurse staffing services to healthcare facilities that have urgent needs for qualified nurses, generally for multiple weeks at a time.
Ray Marcy has more than 25 years in the healthcare and professional staffing industries, most recently serving as a shareholder and the Executive Chairman of Nursefinders, Inc. He joined Nursefinders when Gryphon Investors acquired the company in 2004 and assisted in the company’s organic and acquisitive expansion into the travel nurse, allied health and locum tenens segments, until Nursefinders was acquired by Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group in 2007.
Marcy also served as Chief Executive Officer and chairman of Spherion Corporation (formerly Interim Services) and during his 11-year tenure expanded the company to revenues of nearly $4 billion, with more than 1,200 offices in 13 countries.
Marcy commented, “FASTAFF and U.S. Nursing have developed an impressive operating model and enjoy a high caliber of talent throughout the organization. I am delighted to support the management team in furthering the company’s leading position within rapid response nurse staffing and in expanding operations into other areas of healthcare staffing through organic growth and the exploration of strategic acquisitions in the months ahead.”
Reliant’s Chief Executive Officer, Gregory Mikkelsen, said, “Having known Ray Marcy for more than 20 years, I am excited to have such a well-respected and proven executive on board to support us in the continued growth of the industry’s premier rapid response nurse staffing providers, FASTAFF and U.S. Nursing.”
Reliant is owned by Clarion Capital Partners, LLC and management. Clarion Capital Partners is a private equity firm focused on investing in middle-market, growth-oriented businesses.
Marc Utay, Managing Partner of Clarion, said, “We’re delighted Ray has joined us at Reliant. We believe he will dramatically assist us in the evolution of our operating strategy and directly help in extending our already strong platform in healthcare staffing. Because the U.S. population continues to age and the chronic nursing shortage continues to persist, we view healthcare staffing as an attractive sector for continued growth and investment.”
