Hendersonville Lynn Blythe, RN, of Pardee Hospital’s Women & Children’s Center, was recently selected by her peers from across the state as one of the Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina for 2008.

The Great 100 (www.great100.org) is a grassroots peer recognition organization honoring the nursing profession in North Carolina. The organization annually acknowledges 100 North Carolina nurses who demonstrate excellence in practice and commitment to their profession, and contributes scholarships funds for registered nurse education.

Blythe has been a nurse with Pardee for her entire 26 year nursing career, working with the hospital’s Women & Children’s Center. A graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, she is certified in maternal newborn and inpatient obstetrics from the National Certification Corporation and is an RN III, the highest position on the nursing clinical ladder. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Blythe became a nurse to give back to the Hendersonville community.

“I was born at Pardee Hospital and have always had a strong sense of commitment to this area and to Pardee Hospital,” she said. “My mom is a nurse and I have always looked up to her and her commitment to the nursing profession and her patients.”
