The Deputy Nurse Executive (DNE) is responsible for providing leadership in the delivery and improvement of patient care through collaborative strategies with others. This position also requires the DNE to possess continued readiness for internal or external reviews, coordination of nursing quality measures and presentation, strategic planning coordination for Patient Services, budget development and monitoring, collaboration with service line directors to enhance patient care delivery, development and follow-up of performance goals addressing customer satisfaction, quality of care, cost and efficiency are responsibilities of the position. The DNE actively participates on nursing, hospital-wide and regional committees that result in significant outcomes and promote interdisciplinary interaction to identify, analyze and resolve care problems. The DNE has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the management and supervision of inpatient nursing, perioperative and specialty procedure areas. The DNE is directly responsible to the Nurse Executive and assumes his/her responsibilities in his/her absence.
