Is there really a nursing shortage in America?

chrisb6576 asked: I’ve read many reports confirming this, but I’d like to hear from HR managers in hospitals and clinics if there’s really such a shortage. Most of the reports I’ve found are from 2004 which may no longer reflect actual statistics in shortages. If there is a shortage, where and what type of nurses are in need? Thanks.
